OVER A CENTURY OF TRADITION
Macmont has a long history of service to the Hospitality Industry. The roots of the company go back to 1854, when Richard Montgomery set up a business in Melbourne to supply soft drink manufacturers with corks and cordials. Around the turn of the century a branch was established in Adelaide and it continued to be a major supplier to the aerated water industry until 1939, when it commenced supplying the hotel industry as well.

In 1968 the company acquired the business of McDonald and Co, and with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth was one of the largest suppliers to the Hospitality Industry in Australia, while another subsidiary Montgomery Merchandise Co. Ltd serviced the manufacturing beverage and foodstuff industry with raw materials and packaging supplies.

It is from this period that the world-renowned Montgomery trophy was awarded at the Adelaide Wine Show, an association the company proudly fosters to the current day.

From late in the 1970's the company completed an integration of all company names to Macmont Pty Ltd, and that name is synonymous with the best service to the hospitality trade.

The evolution in dining and drinking hours, together with the introduction of gaming machines in hotels in Australia, has seen Macmont develop a three pronged strategy to service the market.

Macmont Hospitality - provides hospitality hardware supplies, crockery, cutlery, glassware, and kitchenware with sales offices in Adelaide and Melbourne.

Macmont Gaming - supplies VLC gaming machines, coin counting and note handling machines in South Australia.
